Here is one of my carved top, carved inside top hollow bodies. With lots of different features with influence from classic electric guitars and hollow body jazz guitars, these bodies feel great in your hands, and offer a clarity and wide range of tone. This one features a double f hole, and recessed solid ebony pickup rings.
The top carve is deep and strong, and the carve on the inside of the top is just as deep, it adds so much to the guitar, whilst remaining very robust.
This one is made from a solid maple top, with West African sapele middle and back.
Included:
guitar body,
ebony pickup rings recessed into top
All screws installed for pickup rings and back plates,
Hard tail bridge included, (all holes drilled ready to push in after your choice of finish)
String through ferrules and neck bushings, ready to push in
a few maple/ebony sanding block off cuts
Standard jack hole in bottom right. uk sized jack fits snug.
Parts compatibility:
56mm Telecaster neck pocket, neck should be undrilled, some sanding may be needed.
Any kind of humbucker sized pickup!
Les paul style 3 way toggle switch
Good quality bournes sized pots.
Finish:
This body is unfinished! and only has one thin wipe down of teak oil for protection and to help bring out any tool marks that needed smoothing. Some minor sanding or preparation for finish may be needed.
You can do anything you like, from an oil finish, or clear lacquer. For the maple top I'd recommend spraying the top in solid colour, and leaving the sides and back clear, along with the inside of the f holes, to reveal the maple as an accent, or "faux binding".
Posted in our finest brown paper and string, then double packaged.
This is a slightly more stock model, I am open to custom orders but I have to take a deposit and prices vary a lot if the custom work is not easily done. Left handed guitars are easy enough for example, I can work with your timbers, configurations, but it's much easier for everyone if you like what I have built as stock! Even so, please get in touch if you have ideas for your own Bodge guitar body!
